My wife and I picked this just to see if it was any good and we felt like putting on something Halloween-ish. I remember the marketing for this movie looking terrible.


This movie is actually really enjoyable. Heartfelt moments, good humor, and a good overall story. Disney focused way too many resources into the advertising for the Little Mermaid and this movie was, in my opinion, wrongfully ignored.

If you're looking for a good family adventure story for Halloween, I highly recommend it.

I remember wondering why the heck this was being released over the summer, then it clicked that a summer theatrical release would make the timing work for an October streaming release on Disney+, when folks might want a Halloween movie on at home.

A very interesting strategy that I don't think worked out for them.

Watched it last night for the first time. Went in with very low expectations so was pleasantly surprised for a family comedy/horror movie it was enjoyable.

Glad y'all enjoyed it but I watched it last night and thought it was awful. But I'm sure I'd have a different take if I was watching it with kids

This is definitely a streaming movie. The family enjoyed it on Disney+, but I would have hated it if I spent 50 bucks on tickets in the theater. It's not a great movie, but it's essentially free since I'm going to have Disney for other reasons anyways.

Watched it with the kids, thought it was fun, especially if you know the ride as well as we do. Owen Wilson is enjoyable in pretty much everything.

I tried, I really did. I just couldn't finish it.

I liked Rosario Dawson running out of the house.

It was fine. The Muppet version was better.

The original version with Eddie Murphy IMO is better. Don't see why they had to remake it. Could understand if they wanted a sequel but the original was fine

Our family watched it Saturday night --> it was sufficiently scary for the 5 year old and engaging enough for the rest of us. We were at Disney World 2 weeks ago, so they were all making connections to the Haunted Mansion ride.

Best part for me was the 12 year old pointing out Owen Wilson and saying "I've never seen that guy before but he sounds so familiar". He was amazed to find out that was Lightening McQueen!

My oldest was scared and wanted to turn it off, but she may be an easy fright

Overall no - there was a few parts where my 5 year old hid her face in her mom's lap...then she openly stated she was going to have nightmares --> but when she came down from bed Sunday morning, she wanted to watch it again.

The ride at Magic Kingdom is pretty good. Our 3 year old loved it, he still won't get to watch the movie.
