Days of Thunder was actually the prequel to Talladega. The part everyone misses is that they are actually about John C. Reilly going from the crew to driver.

Maybe it's just me and most of his movies. I pretty much hate any action movie he does whether it's days of thunder, top gun or any of the horrid MI movies. Give me risky business, rain man, and a few good men.

I have a hard time believing this, and am not seeing it being reported/discussed anywhere else. I don't doubt that Cruise has considered a Days of Thunder sequel, but there's no way he's doing one with Maverick director Joseph Kosinski, considering Kosinski starts filming a Formula One movie next month about "a driver who comes out of retirement to mentor a young driver as his team-mate," starring Brad Pitt.

Plot:

Married and divorced Nicole Kidman. Their daughter is marrying the son of Russ Wheeler… and he also drives with him.

Wildcard will be the fake cop stripper. Tom Cruise knocked her up and had another son who goes against Cruise.

Cruise is now the Robert Duvall guy and comes out of retirement to smoke both of their asses. This all happens in the same cinematic universe as Talledega Knights. John C Reilly plays both roles to perfection as the veteran crew member and Cal Norton Jr

I absolutely love Days of Thunder (probably more than Top Gun) but I'd be skeptical of a sequel.

For fans of the movie, Fox did a NASACR special on the making of the movie that was really cool and had some great info. They built special camera cars that they had to qualify for races to be able to run during races to get some of the shots they got. Rick Hendrick was a big reason that movie got made.

If you're doing a big budget racing movie these days, seems like NASCAR wouldn't have the desired global appeal.
