It was known that "Lorrie" probably wouldn't make an appearance, but could he be introducing the new Lorrie with "Lucile" ?

Haven't been impressed with the songs they released early. But will put the album on repeat and see if it takes.

Cat in the Rain - I could envision the ranch he was out on in Oak Island when he was getting sober. Awesome song

I'm listening to it now for the first time. It seems to be missing some of their magic. Diamonds & Gasoline was a masterpiece. Think about the intro to bird hunters, long hot summer day, housefire… none jump out yet.

Mean Old Sun grew on me.
Brought Me - is my favorite so far.
Lucille - I like the lyrics but the music sounds like a repeat. I'm not a huge fan of their girl songs except for Good Lord Laurie and maybe Evangeline.
Chipping Mill - I'm not a fan of repeating lyrics.
The Rut - getting away from the music lifestyle, his sobriety song.
A cat in the rain - this may grow on me
Black Sky - !!!!!! Love this !!!!!!!
East Side Love Song - similar to a song they've done before but can't put my finger on it.
Three more days - good song, not much standing out tho.
Won't you give me one more chance - the first few lines cut, damn. I like this one.

I know this will grow on me. I wasn't a huge fan of A Long Way from your Heart and that probably was my favorite behind diamonds & gasoline.

My post is scatter shooting but I'm typing this as I listen to each song. But where are the dancing songs??? I hear Easton & Main and I have to dance to it. I know this is gonna be another great album. I'm glad their back and look forward to catching their shows next year!

I agree with most of this. I'll rescind my "fantastic" comment. It's good, but not great. At least not yet

Really love Brought Me and Lucille! Letting the rest grow on me with subsequent listens. Diamonds & Gasoline is all-time so I did not expect it to be their best album but so far it has heart but not as many "bangers."

Black Sky is a classic Turnpike banger.

Mean Old Sun is aging well.

Three More Days is good, but could have been great. Something is missing.

Black Sky is a cover of Ozark Mountain Daredevils from 1973.

I like it, but don't love it. Hoping it will grow on me like their last album, which didn't do anything for me after the first couple listens, then came back to it about a year later and really liked.

I think reading mediocre album reviews before listening to said album is always a good strategy for me.

I'm really liking it so far.
