I looked here and on the politics board and didn't see a thread about this movie. I started a thread there and now here. Pretty good flick trying to make a statement about the decline of morals in society - a story told in the context of a death row inmate and a psychologist's evaluation of him to determine whether he is clinically crazy or an evil person that is a master manipulator. Has anyone seen it?

I read that it's a take on The Screwtape Letters and I am interested in seeing it.

I've heard this is great!, and also that it's a modern day "Screwtape Letters". (CS Lewis is one of my fav authors).

Heard imterview today with directors...only in theaters another day or two. Hoping for streaming but they don't sound confident.
I know, I have been trying to see it but the showtimes haven't worked where we live - it looks really interesting.
This looks more like a streaming movie. I want to watch it but how much more of this movie isn't in the trailer? Hopefully one of them picks it up, I doubt I'll go to the theater for this one.Aggie95 said:

Saw it. Good quality movie with better than expected acting.

Watched this today and I agree with this. I really enjoyed it despite the slightly lackluster ending. Definitely gets you thinking about our current environment. It is a quick watch too, around 90 minutes. I hope it catches on streaming somewhere soon so more get a chance to see it.

We thought the movie was excellent. Here is a good interview with one of the stars of the show. They discuss more than the movie but Nefarious comes up in the latter half.
I didn't quite make the connection to Screwtape, which is ironic because I have been reading. But I can see the comp. I had a good time with it.
It certainly doesn't hide its opinion and wears them on its sleeves. But that was refreshing.

Just finished watching. Definitely an interesting movie. Fun to read all the critics reviews on RT and then reading the audience reviews. The critics all complain about it getting preachy but I really enjoyed it.

Bumping this Just saw it on a plane ride home yesterday. They did a great job of holding your attention with basically two characters. Thought it was well done, definitely thought provoking
