Christmas gets the best overall but no thanks to its Rusty and Audrey who are both pretty weak imo. The iconic Eddie scenes and the neighbors carry this one to the win.

Vegas is close behind with the Eddie scenes though, and also has by far my favorite Rusty and Audrey.

Vacation is solid all around, but its main issue is how small of a part Eddie has, who let's face it, is the best part of this franchise.

2015 is kinda meh, but watchable. Can't stand Helms' Rusty though.

European is just bad, with a few good jokes in there but not enough to save it. And I just hate that Audrey for some reason.

I don't think of 2015 as part of the group but enjoyed it. Euro is terrible, especially Audrey. The original is a classic. Love the Harold Ramis directed but I just enjoy Vegas more. Christmas is epic.

Because it's funny. Funnier than European Vacation.

Vegas has grown on me over the years. Still a distant #3 but I don't consider it a disaster like I did when it came out.

European Vacation has its moments, but Vegas Vacation was just awful. How the op can put that #2 is baffling. I haven't seen the newest one.

Vegas was just an abomination.
Everyone just showed up for a paycheck, most especially the writers

Christmas is the best; agree with above that it is hilarious throughout which is incredibly rare for even the best comedies in history. OG is close to it.

Giant gap to European. Anyone who likes Vegas probably either lost their virginity or found out they won the lottery while watching it. It's awful. Mailed in money grab garbage. 2015 was pretty bad but better than Vegas, but I don't really classify it with the rest

The fact that some of you actually think the reboot and European Vacation are better than Vegas is ludicrous.

Where the hell is the damn dam tour?

That is basically the only notable joke in the entire movie and Beavis and Butthead did it first

The original is a different kind of comedy from all the rest. Raunchy, irreverent, a lot of things that would get it cancelled today. Clark dances around an affair for the whole movie, transports a dead body across multiple state lines, murders a dog, holds a security guard hostage, steals merchandise, and mocks Disney. Christmas is a more polished movie and a lot safer, the original doesn't waste a single frame on sentimentality or family coming together or any of that BS, it's hilarious wire to wire.

Raunchy doesn't automatically make it better.
