Has anyone heard of or seen any showings of the Cinemark Screen X technology?? It is showing Avatar right now and I'm kind of curious about this. Wondering if it will just give me a headache though.

Note: while I think the traditional movie format (2.35x1) is the best… I tend to at least try all gimmicky new formats (like 3d, D-Box, etc.)

I think it's just Cinemark's equivalent of IMAX. Pretty good choice for Avatar I'd think.

Edit: Nevermind, I see it's the multiple projector one. I have no idea how that one works tbh. I don't know where the "extra" picture really comes from.

I saw Top Gun: Maverick on it. It's distracting, doesn't add a lot to the experience, and is not visually appealing. I do not recommend it. If you're in the Houston area and looking for a great experience, I can't recommend Samsung Onyx at Star Cinema Grill in Katy/Richmond enough. Avatar 2 would be awesome on that screen.

Yes, they do.

Cinemark has had XD theaters for a while - is this different than that ?

That's what I was confusing it with. XD is basically just IMAX.

I'm gonna have to see it on that screen. Was recommended to see TP:M there but never got around to it.
