Just so we're clear, "concept trailer" = fake trailer. Yes, the project is real, but that trailer is just something some random fan made nearly a year ago.

Chris Macneil returning to show up 30 minutes into the movie to help a new family being terrorized by the demon!

I've got nothing against David Gordon Green - his directing even in the lackluster Halloween reboots was not the problem. He seems to have a good eye for things.

But hopefully the writers actually do something of note. You're taking 2 classic books that spawned 2 classic movies with top notch acting all the way around. Would be a shame to not add something worthwhile to it.

Semi-related: Exorcist III (which should really be 2) is incredibly underrated and one of the best horror sequels I've ever seen.

DGG wanted to do Halloween 2018 and both he and McBride were apparently huge fans and brought the project to Blumhouse. (Or Blum brought it to them, not sure.)

Don't know why they got to try and do a remake of a classic. The original is nails and still lives up to this day as one of the best horror movies of all time. Could be said it's the best horror movie of all time.
