I was randomly trying to find a scene from Ferris Bueller, which took me to the Ferris Bueller-ish Honda commercial with Matthew Broderick, which happily took me to Bill Murray's 2020 Jeep Groundhog's Day commercial.



A really good commercial is an awesome thing if you think about it. They are trying to manipulate us into buying something. We know it as well. In the era of 15 second streaming service ads, it takes some talent to nail an ad that will keep you keyed in for nearly two minutes. This one is perfect.

What are your favorites from recent memory?

a couple of my favorites, both are years old. The jeep commercial above is great too, if for no other reason than they grabbed some of the original actors for the bit.

EDS "cat herders" will always be a classic.



The Outpost.com commercials were twisted and great.

I think it was a product of my age where we'd record Christmas shows/movies on vhs tapes so we could watch them back in the early 90's so I would always see it when watching a taped Christmas movie, but this commercial has always been the most iconic to me. Simple yet effective

I love that they still show that one. That and the Hershey kisses playing We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Just reminds me of being a kid at Christmas time.

And yes, that's an actual ad for an actual product, not some SNL skit
