Tedeschi Trucks Band is one of my favorites, and I'm very interested after hearing about their coming release. It's a four-album set based on a 12th-century Persian poem, "Layla and Majnun." The Layla mentioned, of course, is the namesake of "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs." Mike Mattison, the back-up singer who was the lead for Trucks' own band, suggested they read the work and see where it went.
I don't know the last time I've seen a project quite this big, especially from a band I care so much about.
(Edit: unreal - I can't link Tedeschi Trucks Band's website because the names together include "s c h i t" and tiny url gets blocked, too. Ridiculous.)

On another note, Marcus King announced his new record will be out in August, and he's released one song to go with the announcement. You heard this one live if you caught his recent show here.
