He was great in Cop Land. Not your normal Stallone role.

I'm not sure he was peak at Rambo yet. His low will always be SOMMWS or Oscar.

Fantastic in that role but like you said, not his typical role. And I took the OP to mean not top acting performance but at the top of the Hollywood game.
And for that I still go with 1994-1995....Demolition Man, The Specialist, Judge Dredd, and Assassins.

I agree but if you stretch that out a year or two on both ends you pickup Daylight, Copland and Cliffhanger so both.

Yes, but he did Rhinestone because he was either with or about to be with Dolly Parton. That's not exactly a low point for Stallone. And we're talking 1980s Dolly Parton. She was already a music legend and still at the height of being a famous sex symbol.

There was always something about Dolly that never attracted me. I think it was the granny hair or the makeup. Just never thought she was sexy in the least.

When she had the full-body makeover in the late 80's and ditched the Peggy Hill hairdo, people took notice.

Peak Stallone was Demolition Man. No, its not his best movie or best performance, but its the best Stallone being Stallone.

Exactly, and this is what I assumed the OP was asking.

Apex Mountain?? Gotta be Demolition Man. His run until then or 1995 with JudgeDredd, is when he definitely had the most juice. Obviously not his best role or performance, but that was him at the peak of his powers IMO.

Rocky III - him, Apollo, Mr. T, and Hulk Hogan in the same movie.

I love Demolition Man, it is up there in my pantheon of dumb movies I can't stop watching right alongside National Treasure. I knew I had found a home at a job once when I made a joke about the three seashells in the bathroom and a couple of guys laughed.

CLIFFHANGER (1993)

Demolition Man (1994) was the beginning of the slide which accelerated rapidly with
Judge Dredd 1995
Assassins 1995
Daylight 1996

Cop Land 1997 was an outlier and really was not great because of him it was just nice to see him not be Sly Stallone for once.

I hope everyone on here has seen the real Judge Dredd with Karl Urban. If you haven't, you need to.

Thankfully all restaurants are not Taco Bell. That had more allure in my early 20's.
