I had completely written off Guy Ritchie a few years ago, but he's got two in a row now with this and The Gentlemen. This movie is absolutely badass. A heist movie peppered into a non-linear mystery that unfolds all while Statham is a stone-cold badass. Definitely recommend and warrants a theater trip.

Also, Josh Hartnett is still alive apparently. Good for him.

My wife and I enjoyed it on Friday evening. Good "badass" movie.

i think he saw what making it big in Hollywood could involve and stepped away for a bit. He really only has a couple of years where he wasn't involved in something from 2000-2021.

I'm watching Entourage for the first time and while i know it is OBVIOUSLY scripted and over the top, i'm curious how many people that could be in something all the time don't want to get into that amount of drama over trying to stay on top.

I can't figure out who Statham was working for in the first place (and they all referred to him as "boss"). He was told to be at the location and just report on which way the armored car initially turned after leaving the hub.

He and his murderous band of cohorts weren't part of the hijackers or seem to have any connection to them...

What did I miss?

... and I don't know if this is any kind of indicator, but I went to see it at Showbiz in Kingwood last Saturday night.

- No masks were required
- 6 total people in the auditorium, 4 outside my son and I

Statham was the boss of his crew. They were a crime syndicate that was planning to steal the armored truck, however, when Statham was doing recon (because the one guy got hit by a drunk driver on his way to do it), he happened across the heist we see in the opening scene. Statham went to England to get documents so he could come back and get a job inside the armored truck company. He didn't tell his crew and had been gone for about 6 months, that's why they fled just from seeing his face when they were attempting their own robbery

The crew that did the original job, and killed his son, weren't on their radar because they were former soldiers and not connected to the criminal underground. Which is why Statham had to seek them out and couldn't figure it out until he went undercover.

Just finished it. Only 3 people in the theater.

I really liked it. I'm not a Guy Richie aficionado, but it was very different than his other films I'm familiar with

I'm used to sharp and witty dialogue, but this one was more of a very tight script with 0 humor. Accurate title though.

That's what I came up with regarding why he was there, but thought it was thin having two different unrelated groups after the same armored truck company.

Yeah, it was definitely a little too convenient but hey it's a movie. Thought all the other writing was super tight though, just a bit of a stretch for the overall plot.

Great recommendation, SP, thanks.

This was on my radar when I saw the trailer, but honestly the trailer felt like just another Statham movie. I figured since it was also a Guy Ritchie movie that I'd catch it on VOD. But a friend and I decided to get out of our houses and actually go to the theater, and I'm definitely glad I did.

As soon as Statham got out of the truck and showed his face causing that crew to run in fear and recognition of who he was, I knew this was going to be different than what I expecting. I instantly LOVED the idea of a movie showing a Keyser Soze-type of guy deciding to get his own hands dirty and just wreck shop. And I wasn't disappointed.

finally got around to seeing this in theaters.

i've started on a post three times now, but i'm still not sure what i think about it. i think my biggest confusion was that it's just not what i was expecting. it is absolutely lacking the charm and witty banter of many of Ritchie's other films. that's probably on me for thinking a movie called "wrath of man" might have some laughs in it, but honestly, that is my favorite aspect of other Ritchie movies.

it's basically a darker, humorless version of John Wick, with non-linear story-telling.

that's not to say i didn't like it. it just wasn't what i was expecting...at all.

Just saw this on demand tonight. I agree with others that the plot was a little confusing and Ritchie didn't do a great job of explaining everything. Not a great movie, but good enough for a lazy Monday night.

Spoiler alerts *****

Was the leader of the gang going to kill the guy who shot Stathams son or was he going to kill himself whenever he pulled out the gun?

How did Statham and Andy Garcia know where the last guy was located at the end? They really made no mention of this.

I thought the ending sucked and was very anticlimactic. Just a few minutes dialogue and Statham killing him really quick. Wtf. At least have some drawn out battle where both sides get licks on each other.

It was a good flick.

Like Payback with a scattered timeline

I think Jeffrey Donovan was going to kill Jan. He knew he was a bad guy.

If you're asking how Jason Statham found Jan, Jason Statham left a phone in the money bag during the depot robbery. He calls it and draws Jan's attention to it.

I liked the ending. No need for some cliche drawn out fist fight. Only thing I would have changed would be to have Jan bleed out slower.
