I didn't see a thread on this so I thought I would start one. Mainly because I happened to be staying at the location this was filmed at back in 2019.

My initial thoughts were, "What in the heck did I just watch?". Its really hard to pinpoint the feel for the movie. It reminded me an austin powers type vibe. Like a late '90s comedy. Super over the top and cheesy but with a slightly modern weirdness that is typical of a Kristin Wiig performance. The plot is pretty dumb and that honestly didn't matter one bit.

It was filmed at the Hyatt Zilara in Cancun which is a pretty nice all inclusive resort. They completely flipped the main lobby and beach to add in all the pastel blue and pepto pink decor which pissed off a ton of people. The cast was obviously staying else were but they entered the set each day by walking past our swim up room. Wiig, Dornan, and Mumolo were always polite and nodded back or said hi. I


Its on Prime so might be worth checking out if you have a subscription.

Am I alone in finding Wiig attractive?

i thought this was hilarious. i totally agree with the austin powers comparison, and had thought the same. sometimes a silly movie is just what you need. i'll be buying this when it's out on bluray.

It's sooooo dumb, but in the best way.

My favorite part had to be the Trish convo on the plane.

The weirdest thing of all was how it was marketed. Because the movie we got wasn't at all in the trailers. I feel like this could have been more of a hit if they leaned into all the spy stuff, Wiig playing the villain as well, etc.

But yeah, overall, it very much had the vibe of a mid-'90s SNL movie. It was weirdly nostalgic in that way, in that I had no idea I even missed those movies, as bonkers as this was.

Hardly alone.

She's attractive in every other phase of life, but she's just not "movie star" attractive. If she wasn't a celev and you saw her walking down the street you'd think she was hot.

This is by far the worst movie of the pandemic, but it seems i am alone in this correct opinion.

I watched it a second time the next day. I can't explain why, but it was just really fun and exactly what I needed.

I watched it twice in the 48-hour rental period.

For a comedy movie that didn't ever make me laugh, I found it very enjoyable.

This movie is completely insane and it's ****ing hilarious

I still think about it all the time. I don't know if that's good or bad, but it's certainly something.

It's now available on Hulu. I haven't watched it yet but it's on my list.

Comedic excellence

Love Kristen Wiig.

Ironically, I liked her best in the skeleton Twins with Bill Hadar. ( Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now)
