That last season or two it was so ridiculous every time they tried to put Jeff Fahey's character in some sort of mortal danger when we all knew he couldn't die because nobody else could fly the plane off the island.

He had one of the best lines "where did the play crash?"
"CRASH??" I landed it right over there."
He knew he was the best pilot around and it showed in his character.
