Not an old, so I didn't watch it and don't care.

But the few clips I saw reminded me more of something from The Running Man than I was comfortable with

It was always a scam for dumb idiots. Williamson County never made a single conviction from the dozens of "felony drug arrests" filmed each episode.

It's actually usually the number one show on cable for 18-49 year olds on the nights it runs, and some weeks all of cable for non-sports events.
That's why I was so shocked they didn't find a way to keep it, it was a cash cow.

There was an incident in Austin where they apparently filmed a dude get killed by the police from several tasers. They kept the footage for a year or something and claimed they were never asked for it so they destroyed it, based on whether their retention policy was. Don't know how much that played into it.

Well after hearing that they covered up the murder of a dude, I am even less sorry that they got canceled.

Makes me want to watch the RENO 9-1-1 episode where COPS was following them around and they recreated an entire bust to make sure they all looked good on camera.

I thought they would just delay the new season when I saw that they replaced it with Live Rescue reruns last weekend. Did not expect this.

I happened to catch this piece about LivePD on the radio last year and it goes in-depth on some of the issues that came from having live cameras following a police department. There were instances of departments purposely visiting certain people just to ensure good tv would happen.

I'll admit I watched this show a lot. However, it never quite settled right with me the idea of your face being broadcast across national tv with what might be the lowest point in your life.

That TAL episode featured part of an episode from a 6 episode series called "Running from Cops." It was a pretty good listen if you're interested.

One thing I know for sure: if Deputy Garo Brown were patrolling my county, I'd be on my best behavior. That guy's a monster.

There was a great episode where he was arresting someone and they kept asking him about his steroid usage and whether that was legal.
