Hootie. Not even close.

I love him as a solo country artist. He's old school and none of the new Nashville crap. His version of Wagon Wheel is one of my favorite songs.

Hootie. I think they are very under rated as a 90s band. They weren't Nirvana, but they are a good pop band. One of the better ones of the 90s in my opinion.

They sold over 20 million copies of cracked rear view, making it one of the 10 biggest selling albums of all time. How could they possibly be "very underrated"?

I watched their first appearance on Letterman and went to the Hastings in CS (when it was across from Brazos Brewing Company on Dominik) and bought their CD the next day. I couldn't remember their name so I told the guy behind the counter "it's a weird name" and he knew immediately who I meant.
Their debut album is truly remarkable. Just hit after hit after hit.
My vote would be for Hootie.
Cracked rear view is definitely pop (minus Let Her Cry, which Darius will also say is country). But later albums you get into some really country and bluegrass-y type sound.FAT SEXY said:
I do have to ask though.. In which genre would you categorize Hootie and the Blowfish?

Beat me to it. This is like saying The Eagles were an underrated band from the 70's.
