We just finished Ep 3 also. I find the poor vs rich stuff stupid and annoying but other than that it is pretty fun.

Finished the season a few nights ago. Set up nicely for a Season 2. Entertaining show for sure. The only hard part to believe is that they are supposed to be 16-17.

Wife and I liked it. It was a perfect quarantine show and yes season 2 is setup perfectly.

Watched it out of boredom.
Good:
Treasure hunting is always cool, scenery, casting was decent.

Bad:
Same tired teenage drama tropes. One group vs another (and always have to give the groups catchy names), kids are smarter than the adults, rich girl with (not so) bad boy, the rich kids being the mean/cruel ones, parents not understanding or just basically being a hindrance etc etc etc.
Got worse as the season went on, the last few episodes you pretty much have to ignore gaping plot holes and obvious large issues to enjoy it.

May or may not watch season 2.

I couldn't even finish the 1st episode, and oragator did a great job of explaining why.

In contrast with oragator, however, I thought the casting was horrible. They explain that most of them are white trash poor kids from the other side of the tracks. However, they all looked, acted, & sounded like rich golden-boy male models with tons of disposable income to spend on hair products and top-notch dental care.

I thought the first episode was very poorly done. My guess is that most people who are old enough to be on TexAgs are probably too old to enjoy this show. It's clearly intended for teenagers.

I think a lot of people on this board need to learn how to take shows for what they are.

when you listen to a George Strait song about drinking beer on a ranch do you think "my god this has no where near the depth of lyrics that Bob Dylan and Led Zepplin give me"?. no...you just sing the words and open another cheap beer and throw some washers.

its not Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad, but its got some cheap entertainment and action. Fun watch. Then again im no movie/show critic. Im just a dummy who watches TV
Hey...so.. um
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Watched the whole thing. 9.5 episodes of great show. .5 of WTF.

Agree with above poster. Weird they are 16-17. CPS involved is only reason they couldn't have been 18-19.

As I said it gets worse as you go along on the things I mentioned, let us know how you feel after ep 10. Around episode five it switches focus some, and that's when the massive suspension of disbelief begins to really be needed.

Doesn't really spoil anything, will make more sense when you watch. But edited my post anyway to be safe.

i watched it. it was ok and would probably watch S2. You have the teenage cheesy factor, but the treasure hunt was pretty good.

OP admits multiple times it isn't very good but wonders why more people aren't watching.

That's what you got out of the OP? I also compared it to George strait

We watched it. As I remarked to my wife, the people in that show made SO many poor decisions and life choices.

We'll probably watch a second season.

I like these shows for what they are to me, which is a tourist video with a plot that we on this board could create in an idea thread about a teen movie or drama. There was a series in the Keys or the Everglades, Yellowstone, Orange County, etc.

I watched the first 3 eps, and now I'll watch the last half of the last episode to give myself closure. I'm not concerned about what happens in episodes 4-9.5.

I had a rough start with Outer Banks, but once the wife and I understood that it's a YA series it became more enjoyable.

Finished watching it the other day.

It's just superficially entertaining.

Not a show that you're going to have a discussion about the acting or plot. If you got time to burn and don't really want to watch something that is thought-provoking, then you should give it a shot.

Watching the first episode should give you a feel about whether you would like it or not.

I binged it a couple weeks ago. Did enjoy it, but certainly got worse the last couple of episodes.

I didn't realize that the reason they shot the scenes in SC vs NC was because of the bathroom bill so that's pretty dumb. Also, taking the ferry to Chapel Hill was pretty unrealistic.

It's Riverdale + live action Scooby Doo. Where Fred gets to bang Daphne. I personally didn't like it, the writing was awful and there were plot holes that could drain a marsh.

Looking forward to season 2

That means it was bad. You know when a show is good.

Be just binged completed it last night. The last three episodes, I kept comparing to 24 where there never seems to be a resolve to anything until the last 5 minutes, and in this case, there are a number of open-ended story lines. I guess you should expect it, but wow, they never seemed to close a story.

I was still give it a watchability rating of 7 out of 10.

It's funny you guys saying it got worse as it went on. I thought the first half was dog ****, and the second half was pretty decent. My caveat being the first half had a lot less action so it was so cheesy and the terrible acting really shined. The action and story in the last half made up for that. Sure you gotta allow yourself to look past some plot issues but for a show like this, I don't try to overthink it. I'll def check out season 2. If you would've asked me after the first few episodes, I would've thought that I had bailed by now.

Ok, my rant on the cheese...
taking a ferry to a town that is three miles inland? Ok. The cops being pathologically opposed to surrounding a building with a fugitive in it (lighthouse, laundry room). Fine. Kids assaulting a cop at the freaking police station and not even being followed? Why not. Kids playing bumper cars at the ferry and not being pursued? Sure. Kids leave on a boat and The cops saying oh well? Yep. None of them being pursued despite aiding an alleged murderer and assaulting a cop? Uh huh. The kid who helped them escape the lighthouse not being in trouble? Bring it. The drug dealer kid being in the back of the pawn shop and treated like some sort of mafia don? Whatever. But if I am asked to swallow all of that in the name of a 5 episode show being stretched to 10, the bridge too far was the tire iron throw distracting an entire town while he just walks away in the other direction. And for good measure they dubbed in "he had to have gone this way!" One of the cheesiest scenes I have ever watched.
And all that is just off the top of my head. I get that I shouldn't expect first class writing, but even by YA Netflix standards it was laughable at points. Made it hard to watch, though as I said I still may watch season 2.
