Anybody seen this?

As someone who's struggled with mental health demons many years ago, I thought that Allison Brie's performance was simply incredible. She played it perfectly.

As for the movies itself, I thought it started out well and had the potential to be very powerful but somewhere near the last 1/4 of the movie it went completely off the rails. Probably the most "WTF did I just watch?" moments I've had since "Maniac" a couple of years ago.

Ok, I watched it. Yeah, it fizzles at the end, but I think that is because I wanted an ending through my eyes and mind. Instead it was through her mind. We were also spared the pain this usually puts a family through since she seemed to be all alone.

Also agree that Brie was awesome

Obviously no disrespect to anyone who has ever suffered from mental illness, but I kind of hated this movie and felt that it was pretty clear by the end that her experiences were, in fact, not just in her head (though I could be wrong). Either way, I posted my reaction last night in the trailers and release dates thread...

I went back and forth on the ambiguity of the end, but I think it was in her head ending with her taking her own life somehow. Even though there were signs that maybe others were seeing stuff like the store owner seeing the horse at the beginning, the claw marks by the sunroof, etc., I believe that was just included to force the ambiguity.

As for the outlandishness of some of the events, I had a coworker years ago that had a son that she discovered was schizophrenic when he went off to film school. The events were actually along the same lines as presented in this movie. It all seems unbelievable until you see somebody going through it in real life. The unexplained time, paranoia, refusal to be treated; it is an insane and crazy ride for the untreated and family.

I watched this on back-to-back nights after Misdommar, all with a 103 degree fever, and let me tell you- I had some effed up dreams this week.

Brie was awesome. This movie was like a Trainwreck that I simply could not turn my head away from. She played cray like a master. But by the end I was like WTF was that man.

Think it's safe to say at this point that Alison Brie is a strange, strange chick

I'm trying to figure out what was the point of her friend who was brain damaged from falling off the horse. Was that supposed to be a contributor to her own mental illness?

That was pretty crazy. Much like the character.

I thought it sucked and wasn't a fan.

It probably didn't help that I thought it was going to star Brie Larson.

Crazy crazy movie. Wasn't expecting that at all. I liked the movie but thought the ending sucked. Gotta give Brie a lot of credit, she completely went all in for that role.

No one is going to bring up her full frontal nude scene and her Bush? Nice body, worth watching the movie just for this.

I liked the part where the guy was excited that the date was going so well and he thought he was going to start this relationship with a pretty hot girl. Then he realized she was BSC. It all seemed familiar. Not to that extreme, but still familiar.

About how far into the movie is this full frontal?

Asking for a, um, friend.

It's the last scene of the movie and you can only access it if you watch the whole thing without fast forwarding.

Well. Looks like my friend will be doing something on one tv while the other one shows this horse girl movie.
