Any suggestions for someone who likes that style of Americana/Country/whatever you want to call it?

Can't make it here anymore. I like him, but he's a complete pinko.

No More Buffalo
Where'd You Hide the Body
Rachel's Song
Hurricane Party
Ruby and Carlos
Just Us Kids
Childish Things
Copper Canteen
Stancliff's Lament

Most will suggest We Can't Make It Here and Choctaw Bingo but I'm not big fans of those songs.

I wouldn't say they are exactly in the same sound genre, but the only band I listen to more than Isbell is The Avett Brothers.

I was listening to a bunch of John Prine yesterday, so I'd probably start there.

Funny story I know but one day a buddy of mine called me right before Christmas and asked me if I wanted to drive from Dallas to Fort Worth to see Darrell Scott at some Unitarian church. I obliged because I was a fan and it took us an hour to get there because of the intense snow.

When we got there it was him, in a Hawaiian shirt, a guitar and a piano. The next hour and a half was a time I will never forget and I'll say that it was the most amazing and moving thing I've ever seen. At times I was in tears, and I wouldn't consider myself a big fan at that time.

At one point in time he was taking requests and someone yelled "Uncle Lloyd" and he kind of stands up, doesn't say a word, walks over to the piano and looks at it and then fires into the song. It was other worldly.

Dude is eccentric, if not weird, but he's a genius.
This is a great recommendation. Scott is a national treasure

Found Zach Bryan on YouTube. He's still in the Navy and managed release a DIY album. I think he's great.

I assume since you mentioned Jason Isbell you've already listened to Drive By Truckers, but mentioning them anyway for posterity's sake. Patterson Hood has some good solo stuff as well.

A few others that make their way around my playlist in the same vein:
Ryan Bingham
Justin Townes Earle
Hayes Carll
Hawks and Doves
Colter Wall
Reckless Kelly
Folk Family Revival
Grady Spencer and the Work
Slaid Cleaves
Wrinkle Neck Mules
Cody Jinks (a bit more straight country that the others, but still solid as a singer/songwriter)

Seriously though, based on the three you listed go ahead and start digging through the Steve Earle back catalog and enjoy the journey. If you're looking for something more contemporary check out Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers.
