I'm sure a thread of this exists but I couldn't find it. I recently got into this show after hearing about it at a Josh Ward concert (one of the man's songs was directly featured in it).

It took about a season for it to grow on me, but I really like it. For me, it's one of the most relatable TV shows I've ever watched.

Are you a small town high school football star turned NFL washout?

No, I'm a guy who's made some mistakes and wound up back home. I personally see myself more in Rooster minus some of the more outrageous behavior.

Don't get too attached to Roosters character.

Yes, I've heard. I'm enjoying him while he's here. I'm almost done with part 3.

Allow me to present a counter argument.

That 70's Show was filmed in front of a live audience.

Loved this show up until the last season. Just doesn't work well without Masterson. Dax Shephard sucked. And it just got way too serious for its own good. Don't really understand what the writers were thinking.

Losing Masterson hurt because Rooster was such a great character with some of the best lines.

But Sam Elliott alone is still worth the watch. I like his character a lot, and it's pretty true to life for a lot of people of that generation.

Still a fun show that's good for some laughs and redneck humor. I keep my expectations low and it delivers just fine.

I don't think they were thinking; they felt pressured to do something because of Masterson's situation They thought Dax could deliver what we'd miss with Masterson, but they forgot that Masterson and Kutcher have great chemistry. I knew the show's arc wouldn't last too tong and I saw the writing on the wall once they decided Colt and Abby would get married even before the decision with Rooster.

I like the show but didn't enjoy this last season because it got too damn serious. Dax's character and situation brought down the show to a more serious level instead of having Rooster and Colt cut up and keep doing stupid stuff.

Just finished Part 7, the latest release.

Pretty cool that Rich, the young black guy that makes appearances in a few episodes turns out to be an Aggie.

I enjoy this show for what it is.

FYI, Both "The Ranch" and "That 70's Show" are/were filmed in front of live audiences.

We watched Ep1 of the latest season last night and I don't think I really laughed out loud once. It's still too serious. Colt and Abby apart and fighting is just not fun. I could do many seasons of this show with Beau simply being a grump and the rest of them being dumbasses.

If I want drama, I'll watch drama. Why can't my mindless fun detach shows (with a glass of wine) remain that way? Ballers went this way. GLOW went this way.

The 70's Show went eight awesome seasons being mindless fun. The Ranch should have stayed with that model.

Yeah, there's no doubt this season is a kick in the nuts as far as the giant **** sandwich the Bennett family has to take a bite of (Colt especially) but the cliffhanger ending gives me hope we're headed for better times.
