I laugh whenever I hear this song kick in during a trailer

I don't know if the theory holds, maybe great movies have featured that song in the trailer, but how trailers are packaged and presented in general can make me laugh.

an example would be nice.

and to push along the conversation, I always hated the use of Bad to The Bone in movies... to this day I hate this song and I hate its use in movies.

I know this is the exact opposite of what the OP is getting at, but the use of the Requiem for a Dream song in trailer for The Two Towers was incredible.

Bad to the Bone is a great addition - worse that Poison to be honest.

MY example is Wonder Park, saw this trailer when I took the kids to see Lego Movie 2 (which I thought was quite bad - liked Lego Batman)

Is it really a coming of age story if they don't use Joe Cocker's "Feelin Alright" for the music under the voiceover?

There should be a law that trailers can't include actual content or anything that would hint at content that's not within the first 25% of the runtime.

The Requiem for A Dream music was one that I always loved and thought was motivating and uplifting.....

Then I watched that movie a few years ago for the first time....

Now it's hard for me to feel anything but depression and despair when I hear it.

I think the version in the original movie is different than the one being used in trailers. The original was depressing, the new version uplifting.

Good point. I think the Watchmen trailers were really well done.

I'll take this as the perfect trailer ....

Only a hint of the nightmare that the movie would ultimately be, but enough curious stuff to bring people in.
