Basically, what movies do you all think made the best use of those giant IMAX screens? (Let's stay away from made-for-IMAX documentaries even though all those cosmology movies are amazing.) I think this is a very different discussion than simply "what's the best movie you've seen?" The perfect example is Avatar, which I sadly didn't see in the IMAX. That was a C- movie at best, but the visuals on that screen must have made you feel like you were visiting another planet. That is, it was a bad movie yet a fantastic IMAX experience.
My favorite is Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol. The Burj Khalifa scene was easily one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a movie. My palms literally began to sweat while Cruise was climbing with those electric gecko gloves, and I got a rush of adrenaline when he ran down the glass + did the Tarzan swing through the window. Runner-up would probably be the Everest movie based on "Into Thin Air." It served up incredible panoramas of the Himalayas again and again.
