I think OP just wanted a reason to post a bunch of prequel memes.

They are generally terrible. Like garlic bread memes and trebuchet memes. People that think weird is always funny.

This is false. The Yoda fight against Dooku alone was better than TLJ.

After finally seeing TLJ, I think I agree that's the prequels are better.
Whether it's the forced diversity casting, Leia in space or the idiotic casino stuff, TLJ wasn't that great.

6 months later and I still have no interest in any post Lucas star wars content. No plans to see 9. Nothing but disgust for the trash that is 7 and 8. Put a fork in it.

I've got it 2nd to last. If you could delete JarJar from tpm, tlj would be dead last.

The prequels aren't really better movies, but at least they tried. The new ones are nothing more than giant marketing checklists. Safe, take no chances, and make bank.
The prequels greatly expanded the canon, took chances, and were imaginative. Of course they often had bad writing and acting (HC was the biggest mistake in all of Star Wars history), but they were true to the spirit of what those movies should try and be - expansive, creative, etc.

This board is full of people that have emotional connections to Star Wars that hated The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Rogue One was strong. Liked how dark it was and I gave a **** about the main character. The new sequels have had 5 hours of screen time to develop new characters, and i dont give two squirts ablut any of them. Any one of them could get killed in the first 5 minutes of 9, and I would shrug.

I was more on the fan side of TLJ than the average poster on here, but I agree with this statement still.

The only thing it did an ok job of was cleaning up the emo mess that TFA made of Kylo. But Finn and Poe slammed into reverse and I thought Rey backtracked too. There was so much whining going on between Luke and her that it blew any chance at chemistry between them. Luke was a whiner at times in the OT, but the stuff that made the OT fun and engaging with the characters was missing.

Except Kylo went back to full emo child again at the end. Thinking of him as the main villain of episode 9.... sigh*

I'll sum it up this way- at the end of Empire, I was friggin gut-wrenched about what had happened to Han. At the end of TLJ, I was actually hoping Finn would finish his kamikaze job and fly into that laser cannon. That's the contrast of how badly they messed up characters they want the viewer to care about

My kids told me that they wanted to watch TLJ this afternoon after school and I figured "what the hell, let's watch it again and see if I'm being overly critical".
This movie really really really really really really really really really really really really sucks

Finn's kamikaze wouldn't have made me feel any better about the movie unless he took out the homely Asian girl in the process.
