I hope this has not been covered...

How in the H*** can ZZ Top release a retrospective of thier career and not
include "Neighbor,Neighbor" or "Shakin' Your Tree"? These two songs were back to back on a 45rpm and both became hits in Texas which was the first songs many people ever heard from this band.

I guess you can never have too many version of "Legs" or "Cheap Sunglasses" and "Velcro Fly".

One bright spot is it includes the elusive version of "Francine" sung by Billy Gibbons in Spanish. This was on the flip side of the "Francine" 45 when it was released. If you have never heard it check it out.

You can cut out most of the 50's & 60's from that song list for me. I hate the synthesizer-era Top. Pure scheit.

A great list...it stops for me at #41. All the rest is commercial crap.

My favorite album is their first and I'm 25 years old. I like the basic raw grity sound. I first listened to the album because my Dad is a fan and I read where Jimi Hendrix spoke very highly of Gibbon's chops.

JFK, that is exactly what I am talking about. That First album was released on London Records "The Rolling Stones" old label and what a great album it was.

5. Old Man
6. Neighbor, Neighbor
7. Certified Blues
8. Bedroom Thang
9. Just Got Back from Baby's
10. Backdoor Love Affair

They included "Brown Sugar", Goin' Down to Mexico" and "Just Got Back from Baby's"...

But not the two songs that got them the INITIAL
radio airplay...

Hendrix was indeed reported to have given Gibbons props after a early New York show...
