Dunno if this has been done before but if you were going to be put on a desert island with a TV and stereo and be given the choice of all the music and movies from a single year of the 90's. Which year would you go with?

94 was the best year for movies and 91 was the best for music.

I like movies more than music so I pick 94.

1994 was a blast all the way around. Only thing I would have changed was Ags being on restriction that football season.

I think 1984 is the best of all time:

Beverly Hills Cop
Ghostbusters
Gremlins
The Terminator
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Top Secret!
Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom
Sixteen Candles
The Karate Kid
Footloose
Star Trek III
Splash & Bachelor Party
Purple Rain
Red Dawn
The Natural
Friday the 13th: the Final Chapter (my favorite)
The Last Starfighter
Romancing the Stone
Starman
The Muppets Take Manhattan

But 1994 for sure for the 90's.

I could watch 1993 movies all day

Leprechaun
Sniper
Groundhog Day
Army of Darkness
Falling Down
The Sandlot
Indecent Proposal
Sidekicks
Dave
Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story
Sliver
Hot Shots Part Deux
Cliffhanger
Jurassic Park
Sleepless in Seattle
In the Line of Fire
Rookie of the Year
Free Willy
Coneheads
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
So I Married an Axe Murderer
The Fugitive
Hard Target
Kalifornia
True Romance
Airborne
Striking Distance
The Program
Dazed and Confused
A Bronx Tale
Demolition Man
Cool Runnings
Rudy
Judgement Night
Carlito's Way
Mrs. Doubtfire
Wayne's World 2
Schindler's List
Tombstone
Grumpy Old Men
Philadelphia
Fire in the Sky
Blood In Blood Out
Menace II Society

For TV, I'm watching seasons 4-5 of the Simpsons, seasons 4-5 of Seinfeld, and an SNL cast with Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, Tim Meadows, Mike Myers, Norm MacDonald, Kevin Nealon, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, and David Spade. Maybe watch a little TGIF when I'm not watching Animaniacs. Throw on Super Bowl 28, the 1993 NFC Championship Game, and some tapes of A&M going 7-0 in conference (and a win over LSU).

Put SP's Siamese Dream, Dr. Dre's The Chronic, Depeche Mode's Songs of Faith and Devotion, 311's Music, Garth Brooks' In Pieces, and Snoop's Doggystyle on the 6 disc changer and hit the shuffle button.

Wow, I thought '94 was going to run away with it, but '93 came on strong like a boss! Too close to call.

I graduated in '93, and I still haven't caught up on all the TV, movies, and music I missed that year. I knew every record at the Chicken, every band at the Tap, and I have foggy memories of Beverly Hills 90210. I wore out my Van Halen CDs during pre party which usually lasted until 10:45 pm. Good times.

I'd have to go with 1991 for music.

Temple of the dog
REM out of time
Metallica black
Pearl Jam Ten
Ozzy no more tears
GnR Use your illusions I and II
RHCP Blood sugar sex magik
Nirvana Nevermind
Soundgarden Badmotorfinger
Motley crue decade of decadence
Sepultura arise

I don't watch movies much, but these albums I could listen to all day.
