Sorry if I missedi thread here on this.

This is such a bizarre story, and you know HBO will kill it. Fairly excited.

Ep 1 was only 40 minutes long. So instead of a 6 episode series they could have done this in 4.

According to Harris County tax records, this mofo owns three units in a 14-story Rice Village 14 condo building, including the penthouse. Pretty cheap for someone worth 100 million.

Very legit just watched it too. So many interesting characters, plot lines and twists. He's definitely crazy, wife is off her rocker, lawyers, brothers and money. The filming of it is exceptional. The recreations are sweet. That intronis badass too.
I'm hooked!

Caught some of it yesterday. May wait to marathon it. They may be dragging it out a bit to get to six episodes, but the raw story is certainly weird enough to work with. Just getting Dick Deguerrin to sit down and talk about a client is interesting.

Great second episode. I'm 99% certain Durst killed his first wife, but that doesn't stop me from constantly going back and forth on my stance throughout. The show does an excellent job of that, and Durst's delivery + black, lifeless shark eyes are enough that it's hard to read him like you would anyone else.

Btw, what was up with him saying his dad brought him to the window when he was seven to wave his mom on the roof in her nightgown, just moments before she jumped to her death? Why was that just kind of brushed over? Did I miss something? Did the dad know she was about to kill herself, and was just like, "Give mommy one last wave," which would be one of the most f-ed up things ever. If not, did he not think it was odd she was just hanging out on the roof in her nightgown? That whole sequence confused the hell out of me.

I 100% thought it was strange about Durst being told to wave to his mom. I like the show because it leaves so many doors open. Is Robert Durst a compulsive liar and none of that even happened? was there pre-existing issues with Daddy Durst that carried over to Robert? Given that it was reported she slipped was this more of a homicide vs. suicide and it was never investigated? Either way, Robert Durst is a total crazy POS.

Interesting show so far.

I think that was Durst's reality of his mom's suicide but his reality is not the same as a sane person. Great show so far but it does feel a little drawn out more than it needs to be.

I don't know if it's a somewhat delusional memory, or maybe it's a real memory and his dad tried to use him to "talk her down" from committing suicide (she goes up on the roof threatening to jump and his dad gets her kid to wave at her from a window in an effort to convince her not to jump). Either way, based on that story and his story about his reaction to her funeral/burial, there's no question it left a kid with some extremely deep-seated mental issues. Fascinating show so far. Amazing how $$$ can keep someone this cuckoo free on the street.

I agree about almost being on the fence due to how forthcoming and at ease he seems when he talks, although im convinced he killed her as well. I noticed how black his eyes are too. Creepy dude. Fascinating show.

I get to out-TCTTS , TCTTS for a change. I met Durst, just briefly, but I was clerking for Galveston law firm that was local counsel for him in wrongful death civil suit.

Durst said he was complicit in her not being around and that he lied about having drinks with a neighbor and calling her when she was in the city. He had to do it. That detective seems like a dipsh*t.

His eyes creep me out too and just the way he talks so calmly and nonchalant. Great show.

All of these things. I had to stop and confirm that complicit did indeed mean that he was more or less admitting to wrongdoing in her disappearance. Though I suppose any lawyer could argue that him saying "complicit with her not being there" meant that their fighting and marital problems were what made him "complicit."

His eyes are definitely the creepiest thing about him, aside from his totally calm demeanor and apparent lack of a soul.

So far HBO is knocking this out of the park.

HE looked the creepiest when he chugged that water and at the bottom of the glass was just a shot of his teeth.

At one point they said she called the dean of the medical school the next morning saying she was sick and would miss a class and then there was a clip of a reporter saying the same thing. I can't remember, did they disprove that too? That's the only thing that would make me pause. If she called the next morning, does that mean he may not have actually killed her?

There was one point in episode two, I'm not sure what he said, but I swear he almost sounded like Gollum from LOTR. So creepy. I'm sure if you watched your mother commit suicide, or at least her last moments, at the age of seven there's a good chance you'll have some screws loose later in life. I just wonder what attracted Cathy (sp?) to him in the first place. Guy is a first rate creepster. I swear it almost looks like he is wearing contacts his eyes are so black.

At the time, probably his family's $860m net worth.

Im guessing they paid the doorman in the building they own to say she came home that night. It would also be easy to pay off a cop. Espicially in early 80s NYC when that city was a real mess.

Love the show so far. When they make a movie about it all Martin Short will win an Oscar.

Someone definitely got paid.

I forgot about the phone call. Maybe Durst was pretending to be Kathy. Like he was pretending to be Ms. Sinder in Galveston.

I think the call made to say the first wife wasn't coming to class was made by the mob daughter friend that was killed in California-also, she could have been the one the doorman saw, although, I always thought the doorman was paid-even when I first read this story in a VF article ages ago.I don't think the first wife ever left and went into the city...

Best episode of the series tonight. Those lawyers are kick ass. For 1.8mil they should be. But they earned every penny of that.dont worry about what happened after Black was shot. Just look at how you can't disprove that self defense wasn't involved. Courtroom genius.

Really awesome show. Growing up in Galveston makes this more personal to me. Been in jury call in front of Judge Criss a couple of times. Pretty impressive no BS lady.

I still can't figure if Durst is in another galaxy or a terrific actor, two things stuck me about last night's episode one was the reaction of Durst after the verdict was read that was the first emotion I saw from the man ever in the show. His constantly asking if the judge had said "not" was very telling. He had convinced himself that he did not have a shot at winning the trial, probably because he knew he was guilty.

Second was him rehearsing his answer to the question about had he lied to the jury in Galveston during the interview break. That was utterly amazing. His lawyer was a little slow in getting over there to shut him up. That is the part that makes me question if he is a) crazy, b) crazy like a fox or c) just thinks he is above the law and completely untouchable.

I agree this was the best episode so far and I want Dick DeGuerin to defend me if I am ever charged with murder. also thought it was interesting that he counseled Durst not to do the documentary but it sure is going to be good for DeGuerin.
