Never been but this years lineup up is great!

Everclear - One of my favorite bands in high school. They had a down slide but their latest album is great.

American Hi-Fi - meh.

Fuel - Another favorite of mine. I basically taught myself guitar to the Sunburn album. Their latest album (with Brett on vocals and no other originals) is good.

Toadies - Maybe my all time favorite.

1995-2000 me just blew his load!!

My second concert of all time was Toadies/Everclear at Sunken Gardens in San Antonio. Still remember it vividly.

No tour dates yet.

They have a pledge drive recording their new album and they are releasing announcements through there and Facebook.

I have no idea what American Hi-Fi is, but Fuel, Everclear and Toadies is enough to get me to go. I went to Summerland 2 years ago and it was a pretty good time.

Toadies will absolutely steal this show.

Hopefully Toadies play before EverClear and get longer set time than Fuel.

American Hi Fi also had a hit with Another Perfect Day.

First Summerland tour was great except for Everclear. Art sounded terrible.

That being said, Fuel has great tunes. I wish Jeff and Carl would come back.

Anyone been to the show this year? How was it? Going on Saturday in Corpus and super excited about Toadies. Heard Fuel has been good, it will bring me back to high school days.

I'll be going Friday in Houston, will report back.

I'm sure the Toadies will be second to last as this is Everclear's brainchild. Fine by me, I plan on leaving after a few Everclear songs.

Toadies are going on last on all the Texas dates since it's their hometown dates. Fuel did the same in Pennsylvania.

So Texas dates will be:
American Hi-Fi
Fuel
Everclear
Toadies

Agree Arts voice is pretty sheet these days. The last two albums have been really good IMHO.

I'll also be at the Sunday SA show. Really glad it's at the Aztec -- very nice tiered SRO floor layout makes for all around great views and doesn't feel too clustered.

Just got home from the Houston show. My thoughts:

American Hi-Fi - truly a one hit wonder. I listened to them on Spotify before the show to get familiar with them. They were alright.Only one popular song.

Fuel - Brett sounded really good to me. One of my favorite bands in college. Really did a good set.

Everclear - Art's voice is indeed shot and he is BY FAR the old man of the entire night. Just looks old. Still the overall sound overcame his vocals to me and I enjoyed it. Ended with Santa Monica with Brett from Fuel helping on vocals and Clark from Toadies helping on guitar. College me had a stroke on that one. My three favorite bands at that time all on one song. Oh, and the lead singer from American Hi-Fi was the drummer for Everclear. WTF? I thought they had a proper drummer, but maybe they fired him. No idea what happened there.

Toadies - My all time favorite and by far the show stealer. Whereas Art's raspy voice has blown out, Todd's is still strong as ever. Great set and the crowd was great. Ears still ringing.

I took the chance to finally pick up a copy of the Rubberneck remaster and in the line to get it signed they handed out cards with codes for a digital download preview of Heretics, but I haven't redeemed yet to see what songs it includes.

Overall a fun night. My voice is shot from reliving the past. Also fighting mid-life crisis mode that these bands (and myself) are really this old.

Did the toadies do the drum circle during I burn?

They did it last night and it was pretty cool.

He's more widely known as a drummer than anything else. He played with Letters to Cleo back when they were a thing and I think he plays for Miley Cyrus now.

Sigh... I saw everclear at stubbs several years ago. Art had several of us pulled onto the stage during rock star to sing it with him. One of my favorite memories.

Good to know about American Hi-Fi guy.

Yes they did the drum circle with Brett from Fuel, the guitar player from Hi-Fi and other guys.

One thing I didn't know is that the American Hi-Fi singer went to High School in Houston. I think he said somewhere in Sugarland.

And apparently Art went to high school here too for a brief time when he lived with his dad in the late 70's. I think he said Alief. Apparently his dad lives in River Oaks now. He of course then instructed us to sing so loud that F'er could hear us say F You. No love lose there

He went to Hastings High School in Alief for a very brief period of time. I remember reading about it in the Chronicle.

Also, just downloaded the Heretics sampler download they were handing out cards for. It's "Tyler" and "In The Belly Of The Whale"
