What is the best movie you've found in the "cheap" DVD bin at Wal-Mart or other mass marketer. My biggest steal so far was the original Smokey and the Bandit.
Not a movie, but a double-DVD set of Red Skelton TV shows from the late 1950s - early 1960s for $5.88. Absolutely hilarious but gentle humor. They left in the commercials, too, which are just as funny now as the shows were then.
The Legend of Boggy Creek...also 5 Godzilla movies. My kids' favorite is Tim Conway in They Went That Away and That Away. The dentist scene, where he keeps accidentally injecting himself with Novacaine in various places, makes them howl.
I picked up Boggy Creek and Big Trouble In Little China yesterday. My Uncle and my mom said that Boggy Creek is one of the scariest movies they saw as kids--we'll see.
Turns out Boggy Creek is still pretty scary. After watching it last evening, my 14 year old would not sleep in his own room--had to sleep in younger brother's other bunkbed, and keep the hall light on all night long. I kindly did not point out that brother's room has TWO windows instead of one. Thought about going next door and paying the neighbor to stand outside the window and growl but that would have been too mean.
