I finished the show a few weeks back and loved it. A friend of mine is in the middle of binging it for the first time and called today with a question about season 3 that I had as well.

The season opens with the twin nephews of Tio walking/crawling (along with a lot of other people) through the village to visit the shrine set up with Walter White's picture in it. The show then never revisits that scene ala the other season flashbacks (season 2, season 5). I'm assuming it's a flashback because at that point of the show the Twins didn't know what WW looked like (they get a drawing later).

So was that scene never revisited because, as I've read, the show creators decided to go with Gus as the primary antagonist midway through the season instead of the Twins? Or was there something else I missed? Or does anyone know if it was supposed to be that way and never revisited?

Lookin back, that scene never made sense to me.

I just watched the whole show in April/May myself, but doesn't that scene take place before they go and try to take him out? I need to go and watch it all again, now...

It's before they go after him. That shrine is where people make pilgrimages to pray or ask for things. Sick kid? Crawl up there, ask for healing, leave a teddy bear or personal item. Want to make sure you kill a meth dealer for your cartel? Crawl up there and leave a sharpie drawing of Heisenburg. It was foreshadowing that they were serious and wouldn't stop until he was dead.

But I was under the impression that they had no idea what he looked like because they got a drawing of him when they went to Albuquerque?

I guess not. I just always had the impression that was a scene of them in the afterlife....dead because of WW.

They have the pencil sketch. They leave it in the shrine. They know they are chasing "Heisenburg" and only have the sketch at that point.

The crawling is similar to the Virgen de Guadalupe but with the twins it was Santa Muerte. Not to be confused and with Santo Poco.

Any idea how they would have gotten the sketch? Was there anyone that could have drawn him? Tio obviously couldn't...Tuco was dead and wouldn't have had a reason to send them a pic before he died...

Underrated post.
