From David O. Russell, director of Silver Linings Playbook, The Fighter and Three Kings, comes his next sure-to-be-Oscar contender, American Hustle - inspired by the true story of a con artist (Christian Bale) and his partner in crime (Amy Adams), who were forced to work with an FBI agent (Bradley Cooper) to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters and politicians, including the volatile mayor of impoverished Camden, New Jersey (Jeremy Renner).
Bale won an Oscar last time he worked with Russell - as did Jennifer Lawrence, who also stars - and they both look to be having a blast this go-around. Robert De Niro, Michael Peña and Loius C.K. also round out an amazing cast.
With each new fall/holiday trailer that's released, the later half of 2013 really is looking to make up for such a lackluster summer. American Hustle hits theaters in limited release on December 13th (then goes wide on Christmas day)...
