Loved both movies and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions along the same vein.

I have already seen all of Aronofsky's work and have Antichrist in my Netflix queue already and am planning on working my way through von Trier's filmography.

Antichrist is a joke. That's not art, it's not some significant piece of filmmaking. Anybody who tells you otherwise is full of pretentious ****. It's total crap, that happens to have Willem Dafoe in it.

And I like Melancholia a lot.

I would suggest Beyond the Black Rainbow.

well, the first thought thought that ran through my head was "wtf? those movies were terrible!". but i only gave them one chance. so i clicked on the thread thinking that maybe someone would offer a viewpoint opposite that of mine that would convince me to maybe give them another shot. i really do like movies. i didn't look at the number of replies though. the op didn't really offer much of a critique either. so, needless to say i was disappointed. i could have let the thread potentially wither and die like so many do but then i would possibly miss out on an explanation as to why the movies were good. instead i offered my personal opinion based upon my single viewings. worst case scenario the op got a free bump. it's not like i came in and just piled on the guy or jumped on a bandwagon. perhaps you would like to begin a lively discourse as to why the fountain was a cinematic masterpiece. i will say that the visuals were pretty good.

I enjoyed the fountain but haven't seen melancholia. I thought Antichrist was bad and painfully weird. Very weird scene involving a dudes weiner and stuff coming out of that shouldn't. Terrible

Hah, okay I'll skip over Antichrist. Was going to see it since it was the only other von Trier film on Netflix.
