Please recommend a "starter" Miles Davis album for me. I've never really listened to much jazz, but I do listen to blues. I don't know if that's valuable info or not. I feel that It's time for me to get to know a legend.

Birth of Cool is a pretty good starter album, IMO

Birth Of The Cool is excellent and one of Miles' milestone recordings. However, if you were to pick only one Miles Davis album, it would have to be Kind of Blue. It is arguably the greatest jazz album ever for many reasons. However, above all else, it is a great jazz album to actually listen to. Miles is in top form and so are John Coltrane, Bill Evans, and Cannonball Adderly. After that, check out Sketches of Spain, Miles Smiles, and *****es Brew. Miles was at the forefront of multiple different jazz movements and he has multiple classic albums. Enjoy.
