Just started Prelude to Foundation. I've never read this series. Anyone else find the writing with this extremely simple. I feel like I'm reading a novel written for 4th graders.

Are the original novels written in the same manner?

Read it around 30 years ago, but found it very well done. Considered a classic SF series.

Read them ages ago. I like the ones that were written back in the 50's or 60's. Foundation, Second Foundation etc. I didn't really care that much for the newer ones like Prelude where he was trying to tie in the robot novels.

I don't remember the originals being written in an overly simplistic manner, but like I said in the above post it's been a long time since I read them.
