When can we expect this to end? There is nothing worse than unknowingly buying a song, and realizing that it is edited. It isn't about WANTING to hear expletives, but the song is the song. ITunes seems to have only clean versions of certain newer songs, and then sure enough you're stuck with a song that technically isn't the complete product.

Do record companies just put out both versions to humor angry parents? Does anyone actually CHOOSE to buy the clean version?

that does suck... never bought a song off itunes so wouldn't know but that would be annoying if it happened to me.

also annoying that itunes downloads has drm, not in mp3 format, and crappy bitrate.

which is why i download everything off amazon or cdbaby.

Usually it defaults to the 'explicit' version, and I have to select the 'clean' version to download (which is what I normally do).

When I was coaching basketball I used to download the clean versions all the time to play in the gym before games.

I like having the option as long as it defaults to explicit.

I've got a question though....

The past couple HD movies I've tried to rent from Itunes have failed.

One of them is stuck, and won't completely download. The other wont transfer to my IPOD (Which has plenty of available space).

Anyone know:
1. How to cancel a download (I can delete it, but Itunes still recognizes that I have an available download, and it will reload itself everytime I restart)
2. Are there issues with transferring HD movies to a 160Gig Ipod Classic?

i've downloaded explicit versions before that turned out to be the clean version.

My 120 gig Ipod classic won't take HD clips. It pops up and tells me.

+1 for downloading from amazon. Love the $5 albums.

Make that +2 for Amazon.

They usually have great deals. Esp. on items that I've always wanted but don't want to pay full price.

But the best reason, DRM free. I had a colleague who worked for the record industry and I am totally against some of the DRM crap.

Never had an issue with iTunes on the clean vs explicit front. I do prefer Amazon for music in just about every case.

I ran into this problem when I purchased Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster Deluxe Edition off of iTunes. It came with about 20 songs (Don't remember the exact amount at the moment...)

Anyway, 4 of the songs are edited. No where did it say that the songs were edited/clean versions. I'm pretty sure the physical copy in the stores is also edited. iTunes recently released an explicit version but I refuse to purchase The Fame Monster again just to hear the expletives.

If you bought the song and it was edited, you should then go download the unedited version. You already paid for it.. its not hurting anyone.

iTunes has been DRM-free for at least a year. FYI.

Amazon is awesome for music, never bought anything off of itunes.
