Name movies or scenes from movies filmed or set in Galveston. I'm just starting a list here (reverse chronological order). I'm sure I am missing a bunch. I'll add to the list as I edit in your suggestions...

- Walking Distance (2009) [Filmed in Galveston]

- Bikini Detectives (2009)

- Dreams in the Attic (2000) [Some scenes set and filmed in Galveston]

- Breast Men (1997)

- Don't Look Back (1996)

- The Road to Galveston (1996)

- Night Game (1989) [Filmed & set in Galveston]

- Terms of Endearment (1982) [Corvette beach scene filmed and set in Galveston]

- Together Brothers (1974)

- The Man from Galveston (1963) [Not sure if any of this movie was filmed or set in Galveston]

How are you doing?

That is a good list. I had a shorter list from IMDB that I started from after I listed the three I already knew (Night Game, Terms of Endearment, Don't Look Back). You still have to eliminate titles that only have characters named Galveston, are documentaries, news footage, interviews, shorts, television shows, wrongly categorized, etc.

I'm definitely going to add Bikini Detectives to the list. I bet that is a quality movie!

One of the Kenny Rogers Gambler movies was filmed in Galveston.

Although not a movie, some scenes from 'Prison Break' were shot at TAMUG.

I'm doing alright. I put out your flyer the other day on a Corvette I passed.

Don't forget to add Breast Men to the list.

Uncommon Valor had a scene set in Galveston, but it had to be near LA. Way too many mountains for Galveston.

very appropriate considering while I was there for a year, everyone called the place Galvetraz

I can't think of the name but there used to be a movie that played at the Strand theater about the hurricane of 1900. Any movie about the destruction of that putrid rock is a-okay in my book.

Interesting discussion.

"Ya'll gonna make me lose my mind, up in here, up in here!" - Not a movie, but DMX filmed the video for this song in Galveston.

"Armageddon" - Some parts of this movie were filmed off the coast of Galveston.

"4 For Texas" - Starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Charles Bronson. Pretty strong right there.

Random stuff...

"The Boys of Company C" - Not filmed in Galveston, but one of the characters in the intro is from Galveston.

"Billie Jean" - Also, not filmed in Galveston, but Christian Slater's character admits to robbing a liquor store in Galveston.

Honestly I didn't even know Texas City had a beach. It looked like Galveston (west end) so I always assumed it was. IMDB confirms you are right.

The opening scene of ghostbusters 1 was filmed in glaveston. The building they fly around at the very opening is a church I think.

It's part of what used to be the Texas City Dike. It's not very big and obviously doesn't look like a typical beach, but it's what we had. Sand and water with a few small waves. It's straight and relatively smooth, which provided a great spot for filming that particular scene.

That area (especially closer to Skyline Drive) is a pretty well-known spot for wind surfing and sailing, but as far as beaches go, your best bet has always been to just head to Galveston.

I don't know if it was filmed on Galveston but Buffett's "Who's the Blonde Stranger?" video was set in Galveston. He also had a cutoff A&M shirt in it.

Was driving back towards Jamaica Beach from a night of catching trout on the SLP pier; early '80s maybe. GCSD had the road blocked so you had to detour around a bunch of lit up vehicles. As we passed saw George Kennedy leaning against the trunk of a car. Found out they were shooting a scene for a movie titled 'Rig', or 'Rigged'.

First thing I thought of was DMX video because it was filmed when I served my 1 year in Galvetraz (TAMUG). I believe some movie about Ali was filmed in Galveston.
