I am actually at home wearing a Cross Canadian Ragweed shirt and I even agree. I used to love them, but their last few albums have BLOWN.

Got it, while they aren't REK, they are still great live, although they are a grunge band now, not that they were ever really a country band.

I vaguely remember that song; don't think he sang it when I heard him in CA last year but a couple years ago in TX. I think it's just a little thing he does at live shows

Saw it at Gruene Hall last year, was awesome! It's just something they play during Copenhagen at live shows. Bill Whitbeck is cool.

The Rose Hotel CD was in the stores today... I picked it up... just finished all 11 songs..... very solid work! His best CD in years.....!

It isn't a new song but I don't think REK's ever recorded it.

Yeah, he has been playing it for a couple years now, but it isn't recorded. There was a decent video from a concert on youtube, but don't know if it is still there.

I get to seem him in 2 days in LA. Will buy the album then. gig em.

Yeah, that's a Bill Whitbeck song and not really new. Robert started letting Bill do it a few years ago during shows. Funny song, and seems to be funnier to people from New Branufels.

I heard that song on XM one day last year, they were playing a recorded broadcast of REK's concert at Steamboat MusicFest. Hilarious. My favorite part is the German verse, prefaced by the explanation that Robert Earl learned German at the Der Wienerschnitzel on Texas Avenue.

On first listen, The Rose Hotel is REKs best work in awhile.

The title song and Flyin' Shoes sounds like the old days.

Throwin' Rocks is a soulful rocker, maybe my favorite so far on this album, something your date many want to dance to late in the evening. On and On's a good one, too.

10000 Chinese Walk Into A Bar - credits say Billy Bob Thornton sings on it - maybe it grows on you - maybe not.

Is There Wireless In Heaven is typical REK country, steel guitar and all, with his offbeat lyrics:

Very true, as someone from NB I can tell you its really annoying when people say "Braunsfels" or "Braunsfel"

Finally picked up the new album today and like it a lot

The album definitely grows on you the more you listen, at least in my case.

For sure one of his best albums in awhile. I really enjoy it.
