I just saw Gone Baby Gone this weekend and thought it was terrific. I was thinking about picking up some of Dennis Lehane's books and wanted to know which ones I should start with.

Shutter Island is very good (and the movie comes out this year, I think). I just finished Sacred, which was okay, and am starting Prayers For Rain.

Go for the Patrick Kenzie series. From what I remember Gone, Baby Gone wasnt the first in the series.
