I have three styes in my left eye...yesterday 2 came to a head and this morning my eye is completely swollen shut. I'm doing the compresses and everything, but this is incredibly painful...so much so that I think I have tensed up from the pain so bad that I made myself sick to my stomach.

I used to get them all the time and a messed up eye for a week wasn't too unusual! Finally I had a doctor who told me to pop the point so they would drain(if on the outside of the lid)...still had several that required an office visit. Usually needed oral antibiotics as well as ointment......they were bit ches!

I am really sorry!

wash your eye gently with baby shampoo.

keep warm compress (hot water on a washcloth) on it.

good luck, left eye.

My husband gets those a lot, so I bought him some stye relief eye drops from the pharmacy. He said they seem to help quite a bit. Maybe try some.

Hot tea bag compress; not just a warm compress. Seriously. I had one when I was in Vegas last January. My eye was hurting for two days and then *poof* there it was. Kurt told me to make some hot tea and put the bag on my eye. By the next afternoon, it was MUCH better.
