IMO, Addison Circle is way overpriced for what you are getting. You are still going to have to drive to the bar and you are just paying for the "cool" factor. There are a lot of other nicer, bigger places in the Addison area that cost less money.
Richdale (
www.richdale.com) has several nice properties (one of which I bet Mack's friend lives in) in the area. They are all nice facilities (the Dorchester less so). I have a 1Br + den in one of their facilities and pay $775. I have friends that live in the Villas at Montfort and it seems that they got a good rate on a 1BR + den. I think they are paying slightly less than I am. It also seems like a nice complex.
As far as living in Addison vs. Uptown, that's up to you. Working in the Galleria area would make me more inclined to live up here. The cost of commuting up and down the toll road from Uptown going to cost you ~$60 a month in addition to the higher rents and gas costs. IMO, Uptown is the better area to live in, it just wasn't worth it for me to commute (more from my hatred of commuting than the actual cost).
