I was just remincing... they are doing away with the Tex system at tu, and we were all talking about our days trying to register on the phone. I decided to call it for old time sakes.
I miss the registraion drinking games we would play:
Every minute you were on hold, drink. Every time you got disconnected, drink. If you got in too early, drink lots..
I am surprised that I ever got any classes at all. And yeah, we would have a ton of people trying to get through... I used to know the 'athletic' number by heart too, but I forgot it.
Ah, phone registration -- some old school memories:
1. First used in Fall 1986. Yes my old ass was there back then 2. 845-TAMU 3. 845 exchanges had an easier time getting through, so everyone was bugging their favorite profs for access to their office phone 4. There as an 845 public phone in G. Rollie with about 100 people (me included) in line to use it 5. We celebrated at the Chicken when we finally got done with it
I was wondering why I recognized that number. Is it bad that I knew I called that number and I graduated in '98? Surely my brain could remember more important stuff.
yeah, we were talking about it, and I just managed to rattle it off. My cooworker looked at me (she's an aggie too) and started to laugh. It took her a sec, but she recognized it.
I never had that problem all my roomates were lower classifications than I was. However if you diled from the hallway you seemed to have better re****s. We think it was because someone never got the classes he wanted so he helped us get ours.
