Work from home day, dog asleep. Breakfast with former colleagues. Work. Work out?
Woke up at 5 a.m.
Did not want to get up.
75 degrees in the Fort.
Peddle something today.

Enjoyed sleep last night; didn't want to get up at 6:00 but here we are. Day trip to Tyler today for work.
Beautiful warm late summer day here in west GA/east AL.
Early shower and critters fed, coffee made.

I don't know how many times in my life I've had that exact meal, but I'd like to increment the count today.
- Slept good - woohoo!
- Jimmy Dean Blueberry Pancake Sausage on a Stick and Diet Coke for breakfast
- My toe is doing better. Still swollen and starting to bruise, but no more throbbing. I'll still cry if my toenail falls off.
- Got several tasks I need to get done at work. One meeting down, one to go.

How is rideshare driving? I'm considering doing that on the weekends. I enjoy driving around town, except during MU football games, when I won't be operating. However, I'm an introvert. I'm not big on small talk. I'd need my passengers to STFU.
And sending you serious positive vibes on that government job you want. My kid is a senior this year. I'm strongly considering moving to KC next year and going for a government job myself.

You would make a lot more $$ doing it during football games.
Just know its more wear and tear on the car and insurance rates may go up (if they find out).
It's not a bad side hustle or a backup job. I wouldn't want to do rideshare as a permanent job but some people do. I like the flexibility of being able to drive when I want to. You don't have to deal with the drunk a-holes unless you drive at night. Lots of demand here in Denver too. I drive a Prius so the operating costs are very low.
I appreciate the positive vibes. A GS-9 to 13 career ladder position would absolutely change my career trajectory. The pay and benefits are huge.

Rideshare insurance is highly recommended. As for the wear and tear, you want a reliable car with excellent fuel economy.

- Went with MIL to pick up my FIL's ashes.
- Took MIL to lunch.
- During lunch, someone called MIL, and I hear MIL say "No problem, I'll be over there as soon as lunch is over".
- Asked MIL, "Oh did they forget to give you something".
- MIL "Yes, Insert Her Husband Name".
- THEY GAVE HER THE WRONG ASHES.
As a veteran, I have been thinking this a lot. I want to be cremated at VA expense with ashes placed in cut-rate wooden box, maybe with my captain's bars on it. A quick memorial service at my church then dropoff at UPS or FedEx for delivery to Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen (also at VA expense) and then pop me into one of those niches in a Columbarium. I figure if I do this right, burying me would be close to zero dollars but I don't know the particulars.
When we lived in Salt Lake City there was crematorium in the cemetery a few blocks from our house and occasionally, anobese deceased would overflow their limited burn capacity, basically causing a grease fire. No danger of that with me.

Watching the riff raff trudge to the back of the plane while I hammer back G&Ts before takeoff. This is the trip I've been putting off since mom died ... I have to drive a bunch of her **** back to Texas.
Driving 3 hrs round trip for a 45 min conformation class with my doggy tonight. I've turned into a crazy dog person.

The VA hospital in Houston once gave a body I was there to get to a different funeral home before I got there. That was an experience.
