I am a fan. Until last year I thought the only way to prepare watermelon was to slice it open and leave the two hemispheres in the fridge to chill and drip juices.
Peeling the melon with a big carving knife has made all the difference.

If you're cutting to serve up right away, like outside at the pool or a picnic, just do this




I've also just used the slicer, again more for serving up right away, and preferably outside.
