Moving to a new team at work. I am now with AXIOM support. I am being completely honest when I say that I do not know what AXIOM is. I guess that will be the first thing to learn. I do have some IT skills. My company chooses to not use them.

I'm talking this afternoon with a recruiter in San Antonio about an opening with Equipment Share here in Columbia. She contacted me about the position. I haven't even applied for it. I'm also interviewing in person with MBS textbooks on Friday. They were recently acquired by Barnes & Noble... yuck. In this case, I was contacted and asked to apply for the opening.

It was great to go to Branson, but it stinks to be back.

I had a weird, super messed up dream last night. I was hiking along a trail that crossed or paralleled a road at one point, and I came upon three hikers who had been struck by a car. There were body parts scattered all over and most of one of the hikers was still under the car. Is this the universe telling me I should stop hiking?

I also was contacted through Linkedin this week by a recruiter who has a job for a company whose "founder" would like to speak to me. Her messaging has been 100% business speak. I don't know a single detail about the "opportunity" after speaking with the recruiter.


She then insisted that I install the Signal app. I already had WhatsApp, but she wanted me to install Signal. I told her that I have a very busy week this week and will speak with her founder any afternoon next week. The founder has already pinged me on Signal. This feels like I'm being targeted/setup for a scam.

This is almost certainly a scam.

Slept well. Barely moved.

Kitties and puppies wanted attention this morning.

Bunnies wanted water last night. I filled up the tiny bird baths for the bees as well and the big dish in back for the birds and deer and whatever stray cat comes thru hunting birds and bunnies and snakes.

Early meetings were good. They were talkative.

Fuego was kind of average today but still better than a usual fast food place. Brought a Siggi's yogurt drink for my afternoon snack.

Need to tackle a few things today and get them out of the way.

Thank you for the sanity check. I responded to this morning's message on Signal by asking that my name be withdrawn from consideration. I then deleted my Signal account. I also blocked the recruiter on LinkedIn.

The Signal scam has been going on in the HR world for at least the last few years. The encryption of Signal is what protects the scammers from being identified by law enforcement. What they do is pretend it's a legit job interview, then tell the person they are being hired and ask for bank information for "direct deposit of paychecks."

One thing I've learned from the travel business is never use someone else's Zoom account. And they will agree to use yours, and then be like "It's not working, here use mine" and whatever they are doing gives them complete control/access into your computer.

My home base is in Kilgore but I work in Port Arthur during the week. There are way worse places to be than Longview.
