Pull tires and load trucks.

Up at 5:45. Beautiful day outside. Caffeine. Shower. Grocery store run completed. Lunch with friends at 1:00. Nap afterward. No other plans.

Up early for the gym. Dog going to daycare, so no walk. Breakfast consumed, dressed for first day at new job. Drop off dog in a bit, then head over.

Since I am an aggressive shopper getting new Michelins for 210 each that Discount sells for 353, I am glad they match prices makes it much easier

• Just another day in whatever here is.
• There's way too much that needs to be done today, it's finally to the point that I need to make a list and work to it
• Too quiet here at the office this morning - call me crazy but when it's too quiet it's hard to stay focused on things
• Now that we're knocking on summer's door the A/C over here has gone into overdrive, which means dressing for summer outdoors but bringing a jacket to wear indoors. No bueno!

I have been at it for 6 hours and still have 7 more to go. I am being powered by Coke Zero and the fact that have 55 hours to go until my vacation starts.

I bought tires this morning from Discount tire, and they had to order them so my expectation was the tires would be no older that 3- or 4-months Date of manufacture and this is a high-volume company.

Okay here is my general complaint with Minsky's. If you order a pepperoni pizza, they make it like this

-crust
-sauce
-cheese
-pepperoni
-more cheese on top


Look I am all for extra cheese on a pizza. But when you top the whole think in cheese at the very end, the pepperoni does not crisp up as God intended. You end up with limp pepperoni. Nobody want's that. They manage to correct the problem on their cupperoni pizza so they know how to make it the correct way, they just choose not to.

That aside, the pizza is pretty good for the area. Their specialty pizzas are where it's at. Two years ago they made an "Irish" Pizza for St Patrick's day. It was corned beef, light topping of cabbage with a mashed potato "sauce" instead of the traditional red on a soda bread crust.


The best pizza I have found in KC is Pizza Tascio. It's the closest to NY style pizza with solid toppings and the occasional specialty pizza for some extra flair. Their current pie of the week is a Sweet Chili Chicken pizza.

-Storms all night which meant I slept pretty well.
-Up early for a busy day to the start of a busy freaking week.
-Multiple meetings today
-Wife is starting a book tour today so there are lots of things to get together (books, swag, etc)
-Picking up my niece from school this afternoon since her ride can't make it. She's not really my niece but my best friend's kid and basically part of our chosen family. I don't know what else to call her.
-Book event in KC tonight and I will be running interference for my wife and her co author who is sorta famous. I'll be shuffling guests to the back of the house for meet and greets before hand.
-No idea about lunch. Maybe some ramen and cucumber salad.
-Stay safe out there folks.

First trip to the beach yesterday for the summer. Water was cut up and looked like chocolate milk. I don't care. We had fun and I found a sea bean. Cooked hotdogs for the family and I drank Corona.

• 15 year old played in an 18u tournament in Cypress this weekend and they won the Championship at 10:30PM last night (5 games). So that was VERY exciting.
• Had to come back the long way through Iola to drop something off.
• Got home at 11:46 PM. Exhausted and sunburnt but worth it.
• Dragging arse this AM.
• Whataburger junior burger for bf and a 44 oz diet coke.
• Big issues at work this morning, so been on a Teams call for 3 hours.
• Hoping for a more quiet afternoon but I do have several meetings.
• Lots of travel to do tonight after I pick up doggo.

gross.

What's even worse is I look like a HOT mess. My hair is in a bun. I am wearing a dress, and I guess I didn't notice in the mirror, but my neckline/face is sunburnt, so you just see a red neck/ace and then bright white outside of my t-shirt line from yesterday. Only have on mascara. But I'm here lol.

Oof, why not go camera off? That's what I'll do on days where everything isn't working out quite right.

For most manufacturers, tires are good for 5 years. For many people they use up there tires before the 5 years are up. Any tire over 5 years old should not be used on the road. the 5023 tires were made in the 3rd week of December in 2023, and the 23024 tires were made in the last week of May in 2024. If you are not comfortable using them, I would take them back to discount and request 2025 Dot dated tires.

She actually doesn't mind it as far as I can tell. She'll play with other dogs on occasion but spends more time sleeping. Photo here is from a couple years ago.

- First official day of my summer in Iowa now that my uncle Mark has boogied back to Reno.
- Slept in, got out to visit my favorite spot while there was a break in the rain, have been lounging ever since.
- Big hard day.
