***** had it coming

I know we previously had a branded Rev logo, but I don't find it on the A&M marketing and communications website. Maybe I'm missing it. I don't recall seeing it used very frequently. Still, I would bet our marketing department could develop a Rev logo that looks sharp without being breed specific.

We are a top-tier institution, and we need to act like it. That includes a purebred mascot.

If you feel the need to tell others what they should do, encourage Aggies to spay or neuter their pets and be responsible pet owners so that there aren't unwanted dogs at the shelter.

Your first point is irrelevant to this conversation and makes no sense in this context.

I assume your second point is simply trolling.

I did not intend to tell others what to they should do. I think A&M is missing an opportunity for some good PR and to help animals in need of a good home. When I was in school it did seem to be common for someone to get a pet and then dump it at the animal shelter when the novelty wore off. I think A&M could use the Rev program to educate students considering pet ownership.

And I agree on your point about encouraging our fellow Aggies to spay or neuter their pets. As the great late Bob Barker most eloquently said:

Agreed that Rev should be a mutt. It could also be a great fundraiser to nominate 5 or 6 dogs a year that people would vote on which would be the next official mascot and the rest would be adopted to good homes (hopefully)

I like the idea of having a new mutt mascot every year, although that would make the graveyard at the north end of Kyle get a little crowded in just a few years.

what if they took pictures of all these abandoned dogs and put them on a website so people could look at them at adopt them has anyone tried that yet

I don't care what kind of dog Rev is, as long as she is beveled.

I vote Rev should be a Jack Russell Terrior. They are smart, playful and super energetic. They can, also, terrorize opponents.
