Rev should have always been a mutt. A&M has a great opportunity sitting right in front of them with this. There are plenty of dogs available at the Aggieland Humane Society. It's a win-win. The adopted dog gets a new lease on life; one full of pampering, and the university gets a ton of good will and PR.
If Blinn kicks a kid out of school for failing all his classes, should A&M offer him an academic scholarship?
We are a top-tier institution, and we need to act like it. That includes a purebred mascot.
If you feel the need to tell others what they should do, encourage Aggies to spay or neuter their pets and be responsible pet owners so that there aren't unwanted dogs at the shelter.
Your first point is irrelevant to this conversation and makes no sense in this context.
I assume your second point is simply trolling.
I did not intend to tell others what to they should do. I think A&M is missing an opportunity for some good PR and to help animals in need of a good home. When I was in school it did seem to be common for someone to get a pet and then dump it at the animal shelter when the novelty wore off. I think A&M could use the Rev program to educate students considering pet ownership.
And I agree on your point about encouraging our fellow Aggies to spay or neuter their pets. As the great late Bob Barker most eloquently said:
