Howdy

Good trip to the coast for my uncle's memorial service. It was well done and well attended and many great stories were shared. Surprising how many people his age were in attendance.

Visited four different Buc-ee's on my trip. Beaver should send me a punch card or something.

Bumped into some old friends while I was down there and some old co-workers. It was good to catch up.

Maybe a landfill trip this morning. Maybe go by my dad's gravesite. It's his birthday.

Chores. Errands. A little bit of work.

Fireworks at 9pm that one TexAgger is putting on. He does quite a show!

Stay up late and console our dogs when neighbors decide to do fireworks.

I have never been to a Buc-ee's, and Benny is dying to go. There is one in Springfield, 168 miles away.

I think we're going to go in April and make a weekend of it. See a AA baseball game, check out Missouri State Univ, visit the world's largest fork, and finally see a Buc-ee's.

Full day of work for me, 17 patients just in the morning session, kids are good at sharing germs. Someone has to keep paying income tax!

Daughter had RSV last week. Flu as of today
Wife recovering from flu
Mom has bronchitis and on bed rest
I have RSV and a fever. Steroid shot at doctor kept me up until 4 AM.

All this in one house!

Getting what work done that I can, then trash run before city shuts down. Going to bed by 8 PM hopefully. 2024 needs to end now!

During my senior year of high school, I rented a movie called "D.O.A." and decided that Meg Ryan was the most beautiful thing alive. My friend Dom was really into Hollywood and happy that I had an interest in something/someone related to it. He insisted we go see "Joe Versus the Volcano" on opening night. It was awful, and I've never seen it again (I've also only seen "D.O.A." that one time).

Flash forward 35 years, and I got a belated birthday card in the mail today from Dom. Included with it was a Blu-Ray copy of "Joe Versus the Volcano." I burst out laughing when I saw it. I know what my 16 year old and I will be watching tonight at the stroke of midnight!!

We have a nice potpourri of bugs at the moment. Flu, RSV, parainfluenza, adenovirus, norovirus, rhinovirus. I've seen more appendicitis work-ups from the ER with mesenteric lymphadenitis than I have ever seen. That is likely adenovirus.

Wow. My son had mesenteric lymphadenitis once and was miserable. The ER team was surprised that was what it was because they don't see it often.

This makes me want to avoid my co-workers.

  • Home after - will watch college football and be in bed by 10ish.

Spent time in the Uintah Mtn's today with family playing in the snow. I hate winter sports but love the scenery. Snow was about 24-30 inches deep.
