Congratulations to Ryan the Temp for winning the Black Crow award (first dead celebrity) in 2024, with his prescient pick of Louis Gossett, Jr.!
The official winners of the other two awards will be announced on the 2024 thread, but barring a late demise it looks like Bruce Almighty is going to win the prestigious Angel of Death award thanks to his astute pick of Shannon Doherty.
The leader in the clubhouse for the Grim Reaper (last dead celebrity) is me, YokelRidesAgain, as President Carter could not quite pull off the ultimate bad beat.
I will not submit my picks until tomorrow to avoid any unfair advantage.
Rules:
1) Five picks per contestant
2) To be eligible for prizes, picks must be submitted by 11:59 CST on Monday, January 6
3) As the pool is late this year, entries may be submitted until the Monday after New Year's. However, you may not pick a candidate who dies or is newly diagnosed with a potentially fatal illness on or after midnight, New Year's Eve.
4) More than one person may pick the same celebrity, however, see eligibility for prizes below.
5) The Black Crow award will be given to the contestant who is the first to select a celebrity who assumes room temperature after midnight on New Year's Day (local time at place of death)
6) The Grim Reaper award will be given to the the first contestant who picks the last celebrity to kick the bucket prior to midnight on New Year's Eve 2025
7) For the most prestigious prize, the Angel of Death, points will be awarded as follows: 10 points for first dead pick, 20 points for second dead pick, 40 points for 3rd dead pick, 80 points for 4th dead pick, and 160 points + an additional 40 bonus points if all five of your picks croak in 2025!!!
8) An additional bonus of 100 points minus the celebrity's age on date of death will be awarded. (So if Dick Van Dyke croaks in January, you get 1 extra point (100-99), whereas if Macaulay Culkin cashes in his ticket, you get 56 extra points (100-44)!
9) In the event of a tie for the Angel of Death, the first contestant to enter the contest wins.
10) All picks are for entertainment purposes only
11) You will receive no points if you murder any of your picks, and may God have mercy on your soul

You are not required to do so, but of course will receive no points for that pick. However, if you pick a celebrity who dies in 2024 after your pick is submitted, you may not change your selection.
