We've always just kinda tore into the presents together with utter pandemonium while thanking whoever gave you the present.

My daughter in law is suggesting that we all sit in a circle by the tree and open presents one by one and have a kumbayah morning full of dignity and Grace.

There will be 12 of us. Probably 60 or 70 presents. Might take until New Years…

You know what I got for Christmas this year? It was a banner f***in' year at the old Bender family. I got a carton of cigarettes. The old man grabbed me and said "Hey. Smoke up Johnny."

But to actually answer the question, we've done both, though in recent years, we've done a round robin for my nieces and nephew. The adults don't do much gift opening.

I kind of just buy myself stuff throughout the month and open it when I get home. Then I tell the wife not to worry about getting me anything.

We don't have kids so it's hand eachother gifts and open.

At my parents. The gifts to the kids all get numbered at random and my mom keeps a master list of who is what and she calls the number and the recipient and one of the kids finds it and brings it to the recipient. The adults then all get the gifts for themselves at once and we open either oldest to youngest or the reverse. Then my parents open their gifts. It's orderly and the kids go first so they can go off and play while the adults are doing gifts.

At my in laws, everyone gets their gifts and we go youngest to oldest over and over again opening one at a time per person in that order until all gifts are opened. Small family do it worked well.

We always open one gift at a time as everyone likes to see other people react

On Christmas morning, when it's just my wife and I and our 2 kids, we take turns. My wife's family is huge, especially on her dad's side. Between her six siblings and 12 kids between the 7 of them, everyone just decided to only buy presents for the kids.

Started off terribly this year. My wife bought me a new bass boat and we couldn't get it up under the Christmas tree so she bought me a new pickup to help with that.
