Its become a bigger issue as seat pitch has shrunk. I do recline my seat, but only half way (in consideration of the person behind me).

I have a love/hate relationship with Allegiant. I like their point to point approach that avoids connections, but I hate that their seats don't recline.

i guess i'm the jerk. i don't see how it can be an issue if its meant to recline. take out that option if its a probelm.

i am considerate though and it goes back slowly at the beginning of flight and stays there until required to go back up. i'm not a total ahole

The ******* in front of me always reclines his/her seat.

If I'm not in first class, then I do my best to get exit row to prevent this.

People don't want more room. Every time airlines come out with an economy section with a little bit more room for a price increase the flying public still overwhelmingly pays for the cheapest option.

I never understood this. They are designed to be reclined and it only goes back like an inch. It's not rude at all to recline your seat.

I think this violates their contract with the flight attendant unions which gives them the right to be an absolutely c**t to you about raising your seat back before landing.

For me it's strictly a value/bang-for-the-buck thing. And 1st class fails the test. I'm still sharing the same small metal tube with 200 people but my knees are 4 inches farther from the seat and my shoulders are likewise from my neighbor? I honestly don't understand how people would pay twice as much for that. The curtain?

Have none of you flown on newer aircraft? The recline function now has a sort of dual action. If you recline your butt goes a bit forward as your seat goes back. Much less intrusive all around and it makes the apparent loss of space more on the reclining person than the person behind you.

So there are advantages to being only 5'9"? I fit pretty good in the space in economy flights. The modern plane seats are less bulky themselves and that creates a bit more space too.

Had someone almost break my laptop by reclining as far as possible as fast as possible while I had it open. The reclining option should be removed, there is simply not enough space. If the person in front of you reclines then you no long have enough space to use the tray table for anything. I blame the POS airlines more than anything but I also blame you bums who choose to recline. Just because it doesn't bother you when someone else does it, doesn't mean that it isn't a bothersome thing to do.

I have a theory that because I flew so much as a little kid by myself, it has made me immune to any inconvenience of flying. The only difference is that I always pick the very last seat on the plane and I always check a bag because that is my preference.
