Saw him interviewed on the news a couple weeks ago; seemed like it was a done deal. He sounded like a honkey.

ETA: the thing I watched was about expanding / stabilizing the Texas power grid by using Texas A&M property / science / stuff, which would require the state of Texas to pay A&M. And of course that would be a bingo pajama for the university; stable, recurring income for an indefinite period of time. I didn't click the link, just assumed this was about that.

I thought this was about a junior college opening in Bryan. Ha!

Wow, I haven't heard a word about this. Sounds like 10,000 CIA folks will be moving into BCS on the next 5 to 7 years. This will propel A&M into world elite research status. I mean the MIT of the Southwest (without the antisemitism).
Incredible!!!

This is the key point. I've come to see the university is just a good ol' boy network of making money off the taxpayers and donors. Been pretty terrible the last few years coming to grips with this, being a 4th generation ag.

How much income would it generate? If it can offset the PUF revenue balance between A&M & tu that would be nice.

Nuclear is the only viable future we have. I'm not anti fossil fuel at all but at some point we're going to have to replace it. Nuke is the only thing that makes sense. I'd rather A&M be reaping the benefits than other schools.

Its not ideological. John Sharp would hold you by the ankles and shake you if he thought it would get A&M another dollar or consolidate a little more power into his fiefdom.

Ha!

Yeah, that's a big surprise! The CIA facility will definitely bring a lot of opportunities and growth to the area. And I love your enthusiasm about A&M becoming the MIT of the Southwest!

Except they also announced a plan for peaker power plants on A&M land across the state. Hint: peaker power plants = natural gas.
