Anyone have experience trading in a camper for a vehicle?

Bought a camper while finishing my house build. Now coming to the move in stage, and looking to offload the camper. Don't have the funds to pay off the note since house went over budget, and I do happen to be in need of a reliable 1/2 ton for work.

Thinking I could solve 2 problems with one transaction. Would love to sell outright, but not having title in hand does complicate the sale a bit.

Any dealerships take 5th wheel trades? 2022 Jayco Pinnacle 36SSWS. Bought new in Sept '23 as a holdover.

Best guess is that they'd give you a little less than auction value because that's who they'd sell it to. You'll take a huge hit and the RV market is already soft due to Covid buyers dumping RVs

Was going to sell our RV a couple years ago and just decided to rent it out on RV Share. It's been a suprising cash cow. About to buy a second just for renting.

I've thought about this but a little bit concerned about people screwing it up.

Do you have storage on your lot or do you make enough so they it's worth storing it off site?

I'm fortunate enough to store at home under a covered area. I think even if I stored off site the financial return would be solid. But the convenience would be much less. I do make a lot in deliveries, to the point where upgrading from a 1/2 ton to a 3/4 was sensible. I haven't had a single issue with bad renters. Renting an RV is expensive so it does weed out a lot of potential problems. I also refuse deliveries or rentals to hunting leases or outdoor festivals with no hookups. In general, it's mostly families looking for a weekend together. Another big rental group is people hosting family at home and they use the RV for additional space.
